This post is specially dedicated to Kim Junsu of TVXQ on his 21st birthday.
15th Dec 86', Kim Junsu was brought into this world though recorded as 1st Jan 87' in his birth records. As fate had it, he is part of the famous Korean Boyband, TVXQ as Xiah Junsu [his stage name] and is one of the few multi-talented singers I know.
Xiah Junsu when he first debuted: 'HUG' phase
I am amazed that this is the 2nd year I'm celebrating Junsu's birthday. Can't believe I've been with them for so long [it's long to me]. I hope there will be lots more of his birthdays to celebrate in the coming years and that I can do more than just dedicating a blog post to him! LOL.
First single phase
My very first impression of Junsu was pretty normal. No big 'WOAH, JUNSU!' reaction because honestly, he is not the best looking in the group but still good looking, of course. It wasn't until 8 to 9 months later after knowing TVXQ that my attention towards him soared. It was due to a dream I had of him. Stupid but true.
2nd Album phase
This dream of him [solely him] was the most vivid dream I ever had out of all the TVXQ dreams I had. I rarely have dreams of individual members and at that time, to be dreaming of Junsu with most of my attention on M & M was a total shock to me. Haha~ Honest! The dream was so real and vividly etched in my mind till this day. Details of the dream will not be revealed because it's too personal. LOL. Or maybe I'm just too shy to say~
Anyways, from that dream onwards, I started to 'see more Junsu', 'think more Junsu'. Not in the obsessive way of course!
2nd Album phase
It was during his duet with Jang Ri In did I realise that Xiah Junsu has an ULTRA AWESOME VOICE. You know when I hear TVXQ singing, my focus sort of spread to the different members' voices and though I can tell they sing very well, it's not easy to actually listen to the individuality each member has. So, listening to Junsu's voice alone made me realise his voice is so soothing to listen to and I really love his vibratto.
Especially when he sang 'Beautiful Thing' live. That performance was the one that made my ears turned to him [haha xp]. I simply won't get sick of that performance! I'd watched it multiple times without getting bored. His voice is just too good to describe.
'Beautiful Thing' is definitely one of my most most favourite songs. :]
3rd Album phase
With that said, let me tell you, in my opinion, he has the best stage presence in TVXQ. I'm not saying this because it's his birthday. I truly feel that he puts the most emotions into the songs he sings and when I watch him perform, I can actually feel the power of the song [be it slow or fast-paced]. And that effect is even stronger when you see him perform in person!
I did mention that his solo in the TVXQ concert I went to was my favourite [and it seems like the fav to alot of other fans as well]. He was electrifying in his solo; great self-composed song and really excellent dance moves.
3rd Album phase [Now]
He sings great, he dance great! What more can you ask for?!
That he compose great too? Definitely. I love his composed songs! <3
One was "White Lie", a song in TVXQ's 3rd Album composed by him.
Seriously, there's just so much to talk about him. There are lots more that I want to say, but I shall leave them for his next birthday. Haha! XD
