For restaurants that serve cultural food, I always have this doubt that the food may not be authentic. How can one know that it is authentic? Perhaps after observing the surroundings? Any natives going there to have meals? Or perhaps watch out for the boss who may be loitering around the restaurant and see if he/she is from the country of the food origins?
If those points are reliable, then KRJ is authentic, that is assuming the middle-age Korean lady by the counter is the lady boss. Here's the highlight of the day: We paid our bills at the counter and at the end of it, she said, "Kamsahamnida!"
I replied back, "Kamsahamnida!" Then she replied, "Yeh..."
I felt so Koreanish at that time though it may not seem so when I typed it out. Haha. And it's not everyday I get to have a close interaction with a Korean, of course I'll get hyped when only "Kamsahamnidas" are exchanged. Awesome~~ :P
So here are the pictures!
Some of the side dishes [The Kimchi fried rice in the background, half-eaten!]
Rice Cakes! As you can see, there are a lot of vegetables in it.
Delicious? I would say TRY IT!! Though the prices of the food is kind of steep. ;p
HEE. HEE. HEE.
Since we are already on the topic of Korean and related...
My mum actually asked me for TVXQ's song "HUG" a few days back! Hee Hee Hee. It was last Sat, when she came back from her shopping, she gave me her thumbdrive and told me, "Give me the Korean song that you always play on your laptop..."
That is so vague, right? I mean I listen to a lot of Korean songs on my laptop multiple times. So I said, "Huh? Which song? So many songs?"
She, "Last time you always play one.. The five guys singing one.."
Okay, five guys = TVXQ.
Always play = I was a little unsure because there were so many songs I always listen to but I was leaning towards the choice of HUG because it is definitely the song I listen to the most.
And really, I played HUG for her, she said that it was one! She said she went to the little Japanese candy shop in Bugis and heard that song playing. She liiiiiikesssss it!
Heh. So she knows I always listen to that song. Perhaps it's because I listen to it so much that she got hooked and finally when she heard the song in the shop it triggered her to like it. LOL.
OMG, if my mum is hooked then HOORAY! That'll be the best. Think of all the benefits~~~ Buy their CDs, go to their concerts in Korea/ Japan!! Woooooo hoooo... I'm dreaming again.
