Kpop Night 2008 - 4/11/08, Tuesday
WHAT CAN I SAY?! A dream come true?! The 2nd most fantabulous night of all?! Enjoying LIVE Kpop performances right in my homeland is something I never thought would occur so soon! My love for Kpop [excluding DBSK in this case] skyrocketed just at the end of 2007 and ever since I've been very much into the music. Never thought I would actually go to Singapore Indoor Stadium to watch Kpop performances so soon!! Only bad thing was my seat was too far from the stage to see their faces. Oh well, 60 bucks, what more can I ask for?
Junjin, Chae Yeon, Jewelry, Kim Jong Wook, VOS, 2PM, U-Kiss, Andy and Wonder Girls.
Junjin started the concert with a blast and Chae Yeon was SOOO beautiful and sexy.
I felt extremely happy to be able to watch Jewelry's "finger-dance" to One More Time [one of their songs] LIVE!! Their One More Time performance in Music shows was what caught my attention in the first place before learning about them. The song wasn't bad and the performance was slick. I didn't know there was such a cool and sexy female group! And that's briefly how I got to know them. Lol. [More about Jewelry later on]

Oh gawd, VOS. Park Ji Heon!! Hehe. The reason why I like VOS so much is mainly because of Park Ji Heon whom I was drawn to when I first heard his solo debut song early this year. I am in love with his voice. When I listen to VOS's songs, somehow I always have the habit of trying to point out his voice. His solo perf of the song is so enjoyable to watch too! VOS ain't dancers, so sometimes when they perform some of their upbeat songs, they have this small dance gestures which I think is really cute. ^^ Wondering what V.O.S. means?
Voice Of Soul. :)
Well, I was a tad disappointed when Kim Jong Wook only performed one song. I was impressed with his vocals when I heard him sing. 2PM, the B-Boy group, did their stunts like always and did great with their performances. U-Kiss, a group with very young members [youngest is a 94'er!! A year younger than Taemin from SHINee! I always thought Taemin was the youngest among the idol groups] who are able to speak many other languages besides Korean, did awesome as well!
Lastly, there's Wonder Girls who stole the limelight of that night. I anticipated very much for their performances especially Tell Me with their famous Tell Me dance. Though they won the most cheers from the crowd, it seems their actions were very humble. Their first performance should have started with them standing apart from each other so before they start, before the lights switched on, they should be at their positions but the 5 of them got together first and gave a bow to the audience [on the unlitted stage] before taking their places. A little something I noticed that the other artistes didn't do. Other artistes just took their places and got ready to perform. Okay, actually I noticed they bowed a lot more than others. Lol. Their performance was great though vocally still noticably lacking.
It seemed to me that the concert was actually mainly for Koreans because the hosts who were Park Jung Ah (Jewelry), Andy (Shinhwa) and Li Yi (DJ 93.3FM) spoke Korean most of the time. Of course, Li Yi will speak in English from time to time. And guess what?! One of Korea's leading Channel, SBS, was there to film the concert! I saw the crew and they even recorded the queue of fans entering the stadium by swiping the camera across the line. I was unfortunately part of the queue! :/ Hopefully they edit that part out. Lol.
That night was probably the first time in my life that I've seen so many Koreans together in an area. There were really A LOT of Koreans, so much so that I wonder if the numbers surpass the amount of Singaporeans present. From my seating in the stadium, a Korean family was seated right behind me, then a group of young Korean boys seated beside my row of seats and I spotted a group of Koreans girls seated a few rows in front of me. SO MANY KOREANS! :D
Before the concert, I saw one of my KLC classmate. I know there're 3 other classmates going. In the end, more than half the class of 8 went!! Oh joy! Lol. Then after the concert, I saw my KLC seon-saeng-nim!! She was SO surprised to see me there because she only thought 3 people from our class were going. As she was taking the same bus as me, we waited together for it. Our conversations were made of KONGLISH- a mix of Korean and English. Hehe, then some Singaporeans were looking at us because of our conversation in Korean.
At that time, there were lots of people taking the bus. We missed two buses due to the bus being full-load of people. So after that we decided to hail a cab which was SO damn difficult. We even failed to get one when we called to book. Seon-saeng-nim was feeling hungry at that time, so we headed to the 7-11 after failing to get on a bus. Over there, fans were shouting and waiting for the Kpop stars' buses [without tinted windows]. Two buses came out and I saw U-Kiss members inside one of them waving out to the fans, so as their bus pass us, I waved back at them. Seon-saeng-nim was like laughing at me for being so fanatic. Then there was the other bus with Wonder Girls and VOS in it. I kind of caught a glimpse of Park Ji Heon waving out and I waved back but I didn't think he saw me. :x I saw a few members of Wonder Girls as well.
All this time the range was close! So although I was seated far during the concert, I guess I am kind of contented to see them in the bus at close range. LOL.
Well, in the end, seon-saeng-nim and I finally manage to take the bus back. It was quite late already since we walked here and there for taxis and whatnot. We talked quite a bit about Korean entertainment- music, dramas, variety shows. She asked me who I like the most in DBSK, and I said Chang Min. Her favourite was Junsu. Lol. She doesn't like their songs and outlooks but their personality. She told me she isn't really into groups because they always sing happy poppy songs. She's more into listening sad songs and man's voices. So I asked her who is her favourite singer and she said Lim Jae Bum [whom I didn't know at that time but I know now because I went to find out about him when Yunho also mentioned this guy, LOL].
Jewelry Fansigning Event - 5/11/08, Wednesday
OH JOY! JOY JOY JOY! Jewelry had a fansigning event at Square 2 on Wednesday the next day.
I didn't manage to get their autograph because I was late. They could only stay for an hour from 1pm and my class ended at 1pm! I saw them for only 15mins but it was one hell of a good 15 minutes.
When I reached there, the fans were queueing for their autograph so the front of the stage was not so filled with people.
I managed to get quite close to the stage. I could see them soooo clearly. It was soooo near.
Each one of them got to talk for awhile so I was really delighted to hear Seo In Young's slightly hoarse voice! Her personality is very cheerful and down-to-earth that's why I really like her. She had the most cheers from the fans as well~ ^^ Oh and just last night I saw her hosting Music bank again, standing beside DBSK! It feels utterly surreal to have seen her in person and now she's in Korea with the Gods.
