Held on 10th Dec 2008.

I just love watching award shows! Be it Korea's or Hollywood's because I'm always curious to know who the entertainment industry thinks is the best among the rest.

Golden Disk Awards is considered as the Grammy Awards in Korea. It's THE award show for artistes in the music industry to get nominated/awarded. Highly authoritative.

One of the things I like about GDA is that they are impartial to all music artistes as compared to MKMF (which I blogged about few weeks ago). Artistes like SG Wannabe, Son Ho Young, Shinhwa may not be the HOTTEST favourite among teens but they are still highly recognized for their contribution to the industry in GDA and I really respect that. All 3 released awesome albums (with rather good sales) this year but strangely, MKMF didn't even have any of them up for nominations. :/

Ah well... anyways, it's GDA now! I'm just so so soooo happy with the results of GDA. Digital Daesang, the biggest award for digital sales (only one song) chosen among the few winners in digital song category, went to Jewelry!! Such an unbelievable surprise since there's Wonder Girls running for the award as well and their song 'Nobody' can be considered as Korea's national anthem now. -.-" LOL. While watching GDA, it does seem everyone there is kinda surprised by the results since there were mixed screams among the fans. I don't kid when Wonder Girls' 'Nobody' can be considered as the country's National Anthem since like almost everyone can sing and even dance to the song. If you were to ask me who would win that prize before the ceremony starts, I would go with WG.

But woah! Jewelry's One More Time won!! The song of FINGER dance/ ET dance won! The group whom I saw at close range at Square 2 won! LOL. :DDD
Congratulations to the girls~ <3

Now, the biggest award for the entire GDA- Disk Daesang, chosen from the few winners of Disk Bonsangs. Winners are judged by 60% album sales, 20% fan votes and 20% judges.

Disk Daesang went to Dongbangshinki!!!!!
Okay, so honestly everyone's expecting them to win this award since their album sales hit 200K after just a week from the official release date! No other artistes have achieved that. And you don't want to know how much they've sold now because it's just overwhelming! Okay, I'm still gonna tell you- the last I read it's nearly 500K. :))))))) The sales might just have surpassed the 500K mark now.

Oh the power of five!

DBSK accepting the award + speech (eng subbed):

Yunho's muscles are WOAH, huh? LOL. And don't get distracted by Jae Joong's exposing abs. I know Yoochun's hair is a little questionable for that night. :x
It's Yunho's speech that I want you to watch, mind you. LOL. Oh and the sweet "Komawoyo" from Yoochun when a male fan shouted "saranghey!!" so loudly. :D

Yunho's speech is sending a message to the general audience to help boost Korea's Music industry since it was really declining since last year (Disk Daesang winner last year only had 100K++ sales for the whole year) and also to keep supporting them, of course. His speeches are always filled with so much emotions, it's a tear-jerker (even in MKMF). T-T
Congratulations, guys! <3

정말 사랑해요...!!
