I re-watched Winter Sonata all over again after coming back from the Korea trip! This drama made me cried buckets! Such a sad story plot but a nice ending.
Anyways before the trip, Winter Sonata was a blur to me. It’s a very old drama and the only time I watched it was when my mum was watching so I joined in from time to time. So I couldn’t remember much of the drama even though the places we went to were the main filming sites! Only after I re-watched it did I realised, WOAH, Nami Island and Yong Pyong Resort. About 3/4 of the drama was filmed in these two places…
Nami Island
This is the most popular tourist attraction in regards to Winter Sonata. In the drama, the main characters visited this place a lot. Playing in the snow and walking along lovers’ path, cycling and etc. X)

Yong Pyong Resort
A looooooot of Winter Sonata scenes going on in here. Almost everywhere in Yong Pyong was filmed, even the hotel’s lobby, the fire place, the condola, the skiing area… aiyah, just everywhere!

It was also at this resort where I first learned skiing! :D What an experience! We learned the basics- moving, stopping, falling down and getting up correctly. Although I couldn’t control well while skiing, it was so fun and thrilling just going down, with the wind against my face. Of course it’s quite scary for me, since I’m a first timer.
I only fell once when I couldn’t stop and banged against something at the foot of the hill. There was also another time when I almost banged into someone– who looked like a pro skateboarder, with a cool looking outfit, probably a Korean- but she held onto me and helped to steer me the other way. So embarrassing man. I was such a noob. Lol.
Look at all that snow. Those are man-made. In Winter Sonata, you could actually see them creating the snow over there. They use a machine to spray the snow all over. Min Hyung told Yoo Jin that if she wants to cry, this was a good place because she could cry as loud as she wants and let it all out. Nobody will be able to hear her cry. Very often, these two would coincidentally meet each other at this place. Yoo Jin would ask Joon Sang, “Are you here to cry?” In fact… he was. Wah… this drama is just damn sad.

Best part of skiing was not only the first time experience, it was also the music blasting throughout the whole skiing area! Kpop songs, baby!! LOL. All the hit songs being broadcasted… singing along and just skiing. So awesome.
I didn’t hear any DBSK songs while skiing, but while queuing up for the condola the next morning, they broadcasted CRAZY LOVE!!! WOOOOO! Finally, they broadcasted a DBSK song! One of my favourite songs from their latest Kor album~ <3 I got a little CRAZY then. LY told me I should just stay there and listen while they go up. XP
There was also a scene when Min Hyung and Yoo Jin took the condola up. I was like, OMG that’s really the place we went to.
This time, all the snow here are NATURAL.
Natural snow is freaking soft and will glitter in the sun. So damn beautiful. Really. The difference between man-made and natural snow is so distinctive.
I sure am declaring my love everywhere! LOL. But this photo wasn’t taken so well because everywhere was so bright due to the snow reflecting the sun rays. My eyes couldn’t see very well.

This was where Min Hyung and Yoo Jin were trapped for a night! Due to the strong wind, the condola service was stopped for the night so both of them couldn’t go down. They made themselves warm with the fireplace and… also when Min Hyung first confessed his love to Yoo Jin. <3
