Last Wednesday, I went to LY’s house in Kulai for the first time after knowing her for more than 7 years. Stayed for 5 days 4 nights. It was like a short vacation. It was also the first time I’ve ever been to a local Malaysian home. For most Singaporeans, we live in apartments and perhaps the only time we ever get to live in a “house” is during chalet. So the initial feeling I got when I stepped into LY’s house was the feeling of chalet. Lol.
I’ve mentioned that during the stay we ate lots of good and cheap food. The first meal we had upon arriving in JB was at City Square’s Sizzling Stonegrill. We ate the meal together with LY’s mum.
Later on, the 3 of us went to Jusco shopping mall, more commonly known as the largest mall in Asia. To me, it gives off the feeling of Vivocity. Large, confusing and nothing much to buy. Oh and because it was public holiday for all M’sians that day, the cinema was filled with LOTS of people!!! The queue was scarily, amazingly, extremely looooooong. So long that I think it would amount to 500m? 1km? Not kidding. I think the queue extended out of the cinema for about 6 or 7 shops away? First time seeing such a super duper long queue in the cinemas.
After shopping, LY’s mum drove us to their home.
Dinner that evening was at an eatery just round the corner of their place. The eatery was good for its Nasi Lemak. :)
We then had sushi and Jolly Shandy for supper.
The next day, I got to be LY’s first non-family-member passenger. Since she’s got a license, I trust that she’ll drive well enough to avoid any accidents. We went to the country club where their family frequents to take a relaxing sauna. It was my first time taking a sauna. It was hot hot hot! Sometimes when it got too hot, I found it a little difficult to breathe but after a while I got used to the heat.
After sauna session, we went to have a “tour” around the country club. We played table tennis and darts along the way. I have no recollection of ever playing table tennis before so that time was my first time playing. So LY wanted to play VS and made a bet on whoever loses will treat lunch. Of course, the outcome was me losing since LY played the sport before and even learnt some tricks.
Lunch at Sweet Dynasty was borderline cheap (once you convert the currency XD) and very delicious. We had lunch at around 3+pm. The latest lunch I ever had.
We ate dessert before main course. Lol. Look at the steak set. It’s just like the steak meal served in Jack’s Place but it’s half the price of JP! And for the crab stick fillet, we didn’t give it much thought since it’s just crab stick but after biting into it… wooo! Nice! It’s the crispiness and the mayo sauce that made it so tasty.
On the 3rd was the highlighted trip to Desaru! Although it was hugely anticipated, the day ended disastrously for me.
LY and I got up early in the morning, went to the bakery shop which sells very yummy breads (also a shop which LY and her family patronise a lot) to buy cake slices. It was for an early mini celebration for MS’s birthday.
We went to pick both MS and G up. So it’s LY, MS, G and me with LY as the driver (Pro! For driving so long). Before moving off to Desaru, we sang the birthday song for MS and let her blow out the candles in the car. We couldn’t keep the cake until we reach the beach because it was about 2 hrs away from where we were. So we ate the cake along the way.
I thought it won’t happen in a car. But I think the journey was too long and the road was seriously bumpy which made the back of my head hit the head rest sooo many times. My motion sickness starting seeping in just as we arrive at the seafood restaurant about 1 hr 40mins later. Not much appetite then but still able to eat enough. (Too many pictures of the food to upload, so please go to FB if interested in the food we ate. LOL)
After lunch, we headed to Desaru. The headache got a little worst after that. I haaaate motion sickness. It drains out my energy immensely. However the windy weather at the beach was so soothing and comfortable. I just wanted to lie there and sleep my headache away – as seen in some pictures (in FB). Ahem. XP
The pathetic and disappointing fact was that we didn’t even touch sea water while we were there. ><
Anyways, time on the beach didn’t wear down the headache throbbing in my head. The drive back was heinous. I freaking puke on the way back. No. Actually it happened when we were heading towards Desaru Fruit Farm. But because of me puking, we turned back. URGH. One of the most hateful things is vomiting. My insides felt like everything wanted to escape through my mouth. But only water came out. So don’t imagine it too disgustingly.
After that, MS got me sour plum from a petrol kiosk. It did helped a bit. However… I puke again just when we arrived back home. AND again after bathing. I felt a bit sick as well. Aigooo!! I hate my motion sickness. I never had the problem when I was little. Sitting the coach to KL, or car to Genting- no motion sickness. I wonder what happened? I even went as far to thinking that I had a brain tumour that might be doing all these. Lol. *touch wood*
Okay, so Sat was day in the whole day. Nothing much. Thank goodness because I’m tired typing so much already. Haha. I’m just kidding.
Oh yeah, during my stay in LY’s house, she taught me how to play Heart and Soul on the piano. It is a song that requires two people to play unless the pianist is a super pro. This song was also played by a couple in the Korean reality show, We Got Married. Haha. After practicing, we played in front of LE through the webcam. We also played Chopsticks and the other popular song which doesn’t have a name (or at least we don’t know what’s it called). Haha, it was kind of disastrous but still fun!
And as for today, I accompanied Chewz to buy some babe things. She found her PiyoPiyo paradise. Lol. I can’t wait for babe to come out! I want to see the cutey baby~ :P
