Oh no no no. It’s the big 2. Bye bye teenage life, hello adulthood. Being officially twenty makes me feel old. No more “1” in front unless I’m able to live till 100. I can’t believe I’ve been around for 2 decades already. Another few more and I won’t be here anymore. I’m nearing death every moment! >< I think death is one of the things I’m most afraid of. Death = ceasing to exist. That totally freaks me out. And I should stop talking about it, shouldn’t I? Since it is my birthday not death(touch wood) day.
Anyways. After such a long time, I finally went back to SP today just for a short while because AY (my FYP lecturer) had to take some measurements of my IOL and also to give me 50 bucks for participating in her PhD project! :) Woohoo. Earned 50 bucks.
She has become so nice. It doesn’t feel as uncomfortable as before when being around her. Maybe it’s because she isn’t my lecturer anymore so the stress just seeped away. Oh and her birthday is just two days before mine! She told me after learning today was my birthday when she typed my details into the instrument. We exchanged “Happy birthday”s, something I would never have seen coming when I was still her student. She even asked me how am I going to spend my birthday and how am I going to use the 50 bucks.
Oh and she even asked me to join the on-going University of Manchester’s class by going through the back door after she was done with me. Haha. Very unexpected from her. There were many other nice exchanges but I’ll just leave it here.
So, I did heed her advice and went to the on-going class where error, sab, joce and anne were at. It’s been loooooong since I last saw them and even longer that I mentioned them here in my blog! :x But I didn’t dare enter the class although I did try opening the back doors which unfortunately were locked. After that, I just hung around there, contemplating whether to go in through the front or not. Before I could even decide, some “highly” authorised people from my ex-course appeared and without thinking, I just turned my heels and head for the opposite direction. XD
I even saw one or two of my ex-lecturers around! Avoided-avoided-avoided. :P
All that avoiding caused me to walked up and down the buildings, sitting on a bench and more walking around the area. Perhaps that was why I had a huge rash reaction to my skin! My ears started to itch so I scratched thinking it’s just an itch. But it continued itching and started burning up, my arms began to itch as well. Hell, I was sweating and I felt itchy all over.
At that time, error came out of the lecture theatre to meet me, claiming she “ponned” the lesson to accompany me when she herself was bored stiff inside. Heh. We talked for some minutes and finally the lesson ended. Joce, sab, anne and Jess joined us there after. The first thing they did when they saw me was shake my hands and say “happy birthday!” then handed me the birthday gifts. :)
Hm so, anne rebonded her hair, sab’s hair looks kind of straighter (I wonder if she rebonded or not, I forgot to ask her about it), joce, jess and error looked the same. They were still the same, especially sab who apparently hasn’t kicked the bad habit of touching other people’s… nevermind. LOL.
Well, my frickin’ rashes became soooo bad it was really disgusting to look at. My whole arms were covered in LOTS of mosquito bites like bumps all over (thinking about it now gives me the creeps) and my ears felt hot. LOL, they said I needed to take my temperature (swine flu…) and see the doctor (yes it’s that bad)! My arms were really freakin’ disgusting man.
I didn’t do anything about it. Just wondering why the hell did I itch up so badly?!
I hung around with the girls in McDonalds’ (they were waiting for jess) and I had free time so I stucked. As usual, during lunch break they couldn’t quite make up their minds on what to eat. Haha. So typical!
After some discussion, they settled on a venue and decided to head off to the place of makan where they’ll then meet jess. As for me, I headed off to IDP to apply for my Australian student visa. :)
Seriously. My rashes subsided a lot after leaving SP and they are now completely gone. I think the most likelihood to why it happened is because I was bitten by insectS, or more specifically mosquitoes?
I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been to SP for so long and suddenly there’s NEW blood, so they rushed for it? Thus victimising me. Hey it can happen!
Yes, that’s what I’ll conclude. It’s not my new clothes from Korea that made me itched and I’m not allergic to the prawn dumpling I ate in the morning. It’s the damn insects inside SP!
Anyway, after settling the visa admin, I headed down to Chinatown to meet up with LY. Fate had it planned for us to meet in the train. Haha. It was I who saw the petite, short-hair girl watching her ghost (just guessing) on her iTouch by the glass panel, thus making me all excited and rather insanely-looking on the outside as I rushed calmly (contradicting but that’s how I am) towards her.
Togi is one of our favourite Korean restaurants. Yes, that’s where we went to for our lunch. Just a simple birthday treat from dearest LY. Of course, it isn’t only “just” that. She said that she’s going to pay for my ticket to Movie World when she goes to Brisbane to pay me a visit. I’m blogging this for record!! :P
On to Togi. I looooove their Kimbab! What’s not to love anyway? Their Korean cuisine is just yummilicious! Pictures of food will be posted as soon as photographer ying sends me the pics. :)
After the delightful lunch, we went to Orchard Rd and walked around. She has to go for medical checkup at Paragon for the student visa thing so we just hung around.
Oh and guess who we saw at Paragon?! Joanne Pei! She was with an angmoh “appreciating” some arts pieces displayed at the lobby. At first we didn’t know it was her so we find it strange and funny to see a couple appreciating art so seriously in a shopping centre. But when we went nearer, I noticed the girl looked soooo familiar. Then “ding!” it hit me. I was like, *gasp* and kept hinting LY about it. But she blur blur, thought I was talking about a girl in one of the art pieces. I pulled her away from earshot and told her, the girl beside the angmoh is the one who act in little nonya!! I couldn’t remember her name at that time because my mind was a little scrambled. LY went a little closer to see… finally realising who it was. Lol.
Woo! I saw Joanne Peh on my birthday! Haha. Okay, no big deal. :P
Anyways, although nothing really much happened today, I still want to thank the people who remembered my special day! Thanks LY for the birthday treat and the little extra something you done for me!! Thanks joce, sab, anne, error and alice for the presents! Thanks LE for putting me on your PM on this day. Haha. I noticed! :P
And thanks everyone else for the wishes and presents!! Greatly appreciated! :)
I have no idea why I’m thanking and thanking…
This post is so long! That's because these days I've nothing much to blog about, so now that I do, I decide to write long. :)
